Getting started with ipad
For those of you who are ISO newbies like myself (I know, it's strange to see a young person who's never owed an apple product outside of an iPod, but we exist) Apple has a great system of tutorials for teachers. This section of reviews will be focused on iPad tutorials. To start off the user downloads the free starting guide to the iBooks app already installed on the iPad. From there the guide walks the user through each of the basic functions on the iPad. For instance, the tutorial for adding notes and highlights to books comes with numbered steps and an interactive video.
The great part about these guides is they update with each new addition of iOS published, so there is no worry about out of date tutorials. As someone who has never owned Apple products like this before it was nice to have a start up guide that was easy to use. I feel like anyone can use these guides and know how to successfully operate their iPad. Yes, even those people who aren't extremely tech-savvy.
To top it all off, the Apple Teacher Learning Center has little badges to earn as you learn more and more about the iPad. I'm well on my way to earning my full set. The Learning Center itself is pretty great and if you are in the teaching profession and haven't given the site a glance I suggest you check it out!
Until next time!
