The principal of change
As far as teacher blogs go everyone expects them to be run by everyday run-of-the-mill teachers. No one expects a principal to go the extra mile to tell the world about their students. Quite frankly I think the world forgets principals are in fact teachers too, they might even forget themselves. This principal has not. George Couros has taken to the internet to show the world innovation within the school environment through his website The Principal of Change.
First, lets talk about the design of the website. Quite honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of the web design. I respect Mr. Couros' decision to keep things minimalistic to remain professional (he is a principal, after all) it is completely devoid of color. I wish there was more in the way of design. As for the mechanics of the website, I love the functionality. What the site lacks in design it makes up for in organisation. Visitors can easily navigate to the article they wish to find-- or find something new if the goal is to browse around the site. I also admire the decision to title each resource in a creative fashion.
To learn more about Mr. Couros and his ventures you can check out his website, twitter, instagram or his book The Innovator's Mindset. Until next time, Samantha P.S. Once again all of the pictures shown here were not created by me, they were taken from The Principal of Change website. |
